In 2011-12 the company shipped a 1000 of the original Roadster. Because of the relatively tiny amount, it is not visible on the chart
From 19Q1, Model X and Model S deliveries are reported together, thus the exact numbers for both models are unknown.
From 20Q1, Model 3 and Model Y deliveries are reported together, thus the exact numbers for both models are unknown.
Cybertruck will first be manufactured in the Austin (Texas) factory and deliveries are expected to start in late 2021
Model S and X vehicles are produced solely in Fremont (California), Model 3 in Fremont and Shanghai and Model Y in all current and constructing plants (Fremont, Shanghai, Berlin, Austin)
Semi deliveries keep slipping as the company is currently battery constrained and the Semi needs large amounts
Elon Musk announced the launch of the company's energy division in 2015, starting with its battery product lines, the Powerwall (for home usage) and the Powerpack (for utilities)
Battery deployments have been growing exponentially since the launch, with a few large projects receiving widespread media coverage for helping stabilize grids. Notebale ones include Hornsdale (Australia), Kauai Island paired with solar and the PG&E plant in California
Tesla is currently battery cell constrained, meaning that they have to choose if they use the available cells in their cars or their stationary products. Usually the automotive unit is the priority, assumably dragging down stationary storage performance
Energy generation means Solar PV (photovoltaic) in the case of Tesla. The company bought SolarCity in 2016, the largest residential solar installer in the US at the time
After the acquisition, they stopped door-to-door sales (which was the cornerstone strategy of SolarCity) and focused only on selling solar through Tesla showrooms and their website. This, combined with resources being reassigned to the automotive side to support the Model 3 ramp at the time led to a serious decline in solar deployments
Elon Musk introduced the Solar Glass Roof product not long after the SolarCity acquisition, but volume production did not start until late 2020, which also did not help the deployment numbers
From early 2021 Tesla solely sells its solar pruducts bundled with their home battery, the Powerwall and vice versa. Based on Musk's comments on the 21Q1 earnings call, this decision was made mainly to simplify solar deployments, as this way, solar and batteries are always installed in the same configuration. Also with this, all Tesla energy deployments can be part of a VPP (Virtual Power Plant)
Tesla currently has extensive coverage of North America (US, Canada & Mexico), Europe and the eastern side of China
As of November 2020 the largest fast-charging location in the world was in California on the Tesla Supercharger network, with 56 charging stalls
Tesla sells its products through its website, but showrooms are operated to showcase the company's products
To perform smaller repairs or adjustments, Tesla car owners can request their car to be fixed on-site, without having to take the car into a service center. The company operates a mobile service fleet to achieve this
Tesla uses a different reporting method starting from 22Q1, which results in the larger than expected increase in this quarter
Automotive manufacturers are required to sell a certain amount of Zero Emission Vehicles in certain regions like the US or Europe. Manufacturers that are not able to produce the required amount are allowed to buy surplus credits from other manufacturers, to avoid being fined. Tesla, being the largest EV manufacturer in the world has plenty of these credits to sell
